Project overview

The New Mandurah Hospital is a transformative investment in healthcare infrastructure designed to meet the needs of one of Western Australia’s fastest-growing regions.

Built on vacant land adjacent to the existing Peel Health Campus, the project will deliver a modern hospital with expanded clinical capacity and a broader range of public health services, replacing all services at the existing hospital with purpose-built facilities.

Once complete, the New Mandurah Hospital will add more than 110 additional beds to the WA Health system, including a dedicated Mental Health Emergency Centre and a larger emergency department with more treatment bays.

Instead of redeveloping the existing Peel Health Campus, a new hospital will be built on a vacant site next to the current Peel Health Campus. The new hospital will increase healthcare capacity, expand services and ensure people can access more care closer to home.

The existing Peel Health Campus will remain fully operational. Construction areas will be separated from patient and clinical spaces, with noise and construction activity carefully managed.

The hospital will feature a new and larger Emergency Department with increased treatment bays and expanded short-stay capacity to support faster treatment and improved patient flow.

The hospital will include a dedicated Mental Health Emergency Centre and mental health inpatient facilities, significantly improving access to specialist mental health care in the Peel region.

The project is being managed by OMID on behalf of the Department of health and North Metropolitan Health Service. Built Pty Limited and Sacyr Construction Australia Pty Limited have been appointed as alliance partners, with the project being delivered through the formally established Western Australia Health Alliance.
