Construction has officially commenced on the New Mandurah Hospital, following the award of the main works contract to Built Pty Limited and Sacyr Construction Australia Pty Limited.
It will deliver a modern, purpose-built facility with expanded capacity and a broader range of public health services for one of Western Australia's fastest-growing communities.
Once complete, the project will deliver:
• more than 110 additional beds to support future demand
• a larger emergency department with increased treatment and short-stay capacity
• a dedicated Mental Health Emergency Centre providing specialised support for people experiencing acute mental health conditions
• expanded clinical services including chemotherapy, renal, perioperative, birthing and women's ward facilities and palliative care facilities.
The new hospital will be built on vacant land adjacent to the existing Peel Health Campus in Mandurah.
All services currently provided at the existing hospital will be replaced with modern, purpose-built facilities while significantly increasing the capacity of the public health system.
Forward works are already underway, including site utility services, enabling earthworks and additional staff parking.
