The Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery is delivering complex, high‑value infrastructure projects for the Department of Justice, supporting the State’s priority to effectively manage Western Australia’s correctional system. These projects are designed to expand custodial capacity, strengthen operational resilience and continue providing modern, secure facilities that help keep communities safe.

The WA Government is investing heavily in new and upgraded correctional infrastructure to meet rising demand and improve long‑term system performance. This includes major projects such as the expansion of Acacia Prison to support efforts to strengthen rehabilitation and reduce re‑offending. Similar planning efforts are underway to increase capacity at facilities like Casuarina Prison, which is central to the State’s broader custodial strategy.

Through these projects, OMID helps ensure that Western Australia’s correctional infrastructure continues to be secure, future‑ready and capable of supporting safe, effective and humane custodial services for years to come.
