The new building will be constructed on the north-western end of the Royal Perth Hospital site on Wellington Street, Perth. The new building will be connected to existing hospital via a link, to integrate care and operations.

Royal Perth Hospital will remain fully operational during construction of the new building. Construction areas will be separated from patient and clinical spaces and noise, dust and vibration will be monitored and carefully managed to minimise impacts as much as possible.

Options are being considered for the use of the current Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department once the new Emergency Department is complete and ready for operation.

The Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department Expansion Project is being managed by the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery on behalf of the Department of Health and East Metropolitan Health Service. Lendlease Construction Pty Ltd has been appointed as the alliance partner, with the project being delivered through the formally established Perth Pulse Alliance.

An alliance contract model is a collaboration between the State Government and private sector contractors that brings key parties together to effectively manage complex projects and support accelerated project delivery.
