Project overview

The New Paraburdoo Hospital is a significant investment in regional healthcare, designed to deliver modern, integrated services for the local community.

The project involves the design and construction of a new facility on the existing hospital site, incorporating an emergency department, short-stay inpatient unit, primary and community care services, and a private GP clinic.

The existing Paraburdoo Hospital will remain operational throughout construction, ensuring the community continues to have access to healthcare services while the project is delivered.

This project aims to provide a flexible model of care, ensuring patients have access to a comprehensive range of clinical treatment and short-stay services close to home.

The emergency department will be equipped to manage urgent care needs and child health and development services will support early intervention and family care.

Enhanced diagnostic capabilities and a private GP clinic will improve access to primary care and support continuity of treatment within the community.

Rio Tinto has contributed $20 million from its $250 million commitment to the Government's Resources Community Investment Initiative for the New Paraburdoo Hospital project.
