Hockey fans got a glimpse of what is planned for the Australian Hockey Centre when the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery team were on site sharing project updates and answering questions.
On 26 May and 30 May, the team were sideline for Hockeyroos international practice matches against India. Soaking up the atmosphere of international level hockey, they chatted with spectators and shared how the purpose-built facility will support all levels of hockey, from community games to major national and international competitions.
They returned in June for the CBH Group WA Country Championships – a tournament showcasing the talent of regional hockey players from across Western Australia. Held from 19-21 June, the Women’s Country Championships was another opportunity to chat with players and fans.
Currently under construction, the Australian Hockey Centre is expected to be complete by April 2029. It will include four outdoor hockey pitches, with at least two built to international competition standard, and an indoor hockey facility with two indoor courts.
