Located within the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct in Murdoch, the new healthcare facility is part of the broader New Women and Babies Hospital Project that is set to significantly expand services and choice for women, newborns and families across Western Australia.
The 12‑storey hospital has been designed with a strong focus on access to natural light and views of the surrounding landscape, with internal spaces being planned to enhance comfort and wellbeing.
The 274‑bed hospital will include:
- inpatient facilities for gynaecology and maternity patients
- a neonatology unit for newborns needing specialised care
- operating theatres
- a family birth centre
- outpatient clinics.
Early construction activities that started in 2025 included:
- removing existing asphalt
- levelling the site to prepare for foundations
- identifying and diverting services such as electrical and plumbing infrastructure
- undertaking earthworks and piling to support the new building.
This new hospital will provide modern, purpose-built spaces that support high quality care for women, newborns and their families.
Part of a broader investment in women and newborn facilities
The broader New Women and Babies Hospital Project includes new multi‑deck car parks supporting future growth at the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct as it becomes home to the new Women and Babies Hospital, a major expansion at Osborne Park Hospital and an expansion of neonatal services at Perth Children’s Hospital.
