The Geraldton Health Campus Redevelopment is now complete, delivering expanded capacity, modern infrastructure and enhanced clinical facilities to support the growing healthcare needs of the Geraldton and Mid West communities.
The redevelopment is the largest undertaken at the campus in more than 20 years and delivers expanded capacity, modern infrastructure, and enhanced clinical facilities to support the growing healthcare needs of the Geraldton and Mid West communities.
The first services have begun transitioning into the new facilities, with the Emergency Department and Community Mental Health set to welcome patients from August. Additional services will progressively move into the redeveloped hospital from September.
The project includes a range of upgrades designed to enhance patient care, improve safety and strengthen healthcare delivery across the region.
The completed redevelopment features:
- an expanded Emergency Department
- an integrated mental health service, including a Mental Health Observation Area, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit
- enhanced safety features, including interview rooms, isolation facilities, and behavioural observation beds
- modern infrastructure and engineering upgrades to improve reliability, efficiency and sustainability across the campus.
Works are continuing on the new Radiation Oncology Unit, which will provide the Mid West’s first local radiation treatment service and help more patients access specialist cancer treatment closer to home.
