Key milestones reached for Geraldton Health Campus Redevelopment Project

13 February 2026

The hospital’s exterior is now complete and the building is watertight, allowing internal works to progress. Installation of furniture and critical infrastructure, including ICT and engineering systems, is underway to support testing and commissioning.

Final works are being completed on the ambulance canopy and Emergency Department entry canopy. These will guide patients to the new and reconfigured Emergency Department, which is set to deliver increased services capacity.

Design has also been finalised for the new Radiation Oncology Unit – the first of its kind in the mid-west. The purpose-built facility will enable patients across the region to access specialist cancer care closer to home.

Major construction of the Adult Psychiatric Unit is also complete, with the area ready for furniture and equipment to be installed.

The upgraded Geraldton Health Campus will feature:

  • an expanded emergency department
  • new intensive care unit and high dependency unit
  • an integrated mental health service comprising an adult mental health inpatient unit and a mental health observation area.
