Concrete works underway at New Tom Price Hospital
Construction of the New Tom Price Hospital has reached another key milestone, with the first major concrete pour completed for the facility’s foundation slab.
The achievement marks the next phase of construction following completion of early works, including flood mitigation measures, and site preparation. Works are now progressing on the hospital slab, in-ground services, and structural components.
New access roads and entry points have been established to support construction activities and future hospital operations, while essential services including water, sewer, stormwater and power have been connected to existing town infrastructure.
A further series of concrete pours will take place over the coming months as work continues on the hospital’s structural base and frame.
Importantly, the existing Tom Price Hospital will remain operational throughout construction, ensuring ongoing access to healthcare services for the community.
Once complete, the New Tom Price Hospital will include:
- a modern emergency department
- contemporary primary care facilities, private interview and consult rooms
- a four-bed inpatient ward
- dental and pathology services.
