This milestone marks the start of the project’s design phase and brings together an experienced multi-disciplinary team to progress a modern, purpose-built healthcare facility that will support the growing needs of Perth’s eastern suburbs.
The lead architect will be supported by specialist consultants including civil and structural engineering, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical services and landscape architecture - enabling a coordinated and integrated design approach.
Once completed, the Bentley Health Service Surgicentre will play a key role in increasing elective surgery capacity across the public health system, helping ease pressure on other hospitals while providing high-quality care closer to home for eastern suburbs residents.
The facility has been carefully planned to support safe, efficient and patient-centred care. It will include:
- six operating theatres
- two procedure rooms
- a 24-bed surgical ward
- a central sterilisation services department
- a range of essential supporting infrastructure.
Being delivered through the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery, the $167 million Bentley Health Service Surgicentre is jointly funded by the State and Federal governments and forms part of the Cook Government’s $4.9 billion investment in health infrastructure across Western Australia, building healthier communities now and into the future.
